Edward Garnier MP for Harborough attended the Pearson Teaching Awards this week to congratulate Stewart Shovlin for winning the Award for “Teacher of the Year in a Secondary School.”
Recognised as “beyond outstanding and transformational” by John Keller, Headteacher at Guthlaxton College, the Teaching Awards judges were “mesmerised by the pace and quality” of his teaching [1].
Edward Garnier said “I was delighted that Stewart beat off some fierce competition to win this prestigious award.
“It is important that the great work of teachers is recognised and given the accounts of his teaching, Stewart certainly deserves this prize.”
