Phil has been the Leader of Harborough District Council since May 2019, and has lived in Leicestershire since 1984, and in Kibworth Beauchamp since 2007. Phil was also elected in May 2021 as County Councillor for the Market Harborough West & Foxton division.
Phil is married with 3 now grown up children, who all attended local schools. He has worked in various marketing and sales roles for both the private and public sectors’. He has wide ranging business, management, sales and fundraising experience. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Sales Management.
He is also a trustee & Vice Chair of The Carers Centre. He was for 5 years Chairman of the Kibworth Scout group and treasurer of the ‘Hut’. He has been a governor at Welland ParK & Robert Smyth schools. During Phil’s 12 years on the Council he has served on many different committees. He presently a rep to the Regional Employers Board and East Midlands Councils.
Phil Says: "The past few years has been challenging for the district council, I have been at the forefront of working to get the local plan adopted and championing neighbourhood planning across the district. At the same time I have worked hard to ensure that real value for money has been obtained for Council Tax payers, including keeping the District share of Council Tax lower than it was 10 years ago! I continue to enjoy representing the diverse range of local residents & community opinion at various Council meetings and committees. Thank you”.
